My first lesson!

As a very artistic and innovative Aquarius (along with a streak of narcissism), I have often been found wondering about the intersection of technology and creativity. After hours of hard work (again, merely an embroidered exaggeration), I have found numerous platforms to generate AI art. To rate the best to the worst, it would be my opinion that Imgcreator is the most diverse and adaptable platform that I have ever used. Recently, I had the opportunity to host a workshop on AI art, which was an fascinating yet humbling experience for me.

I actually demonstrated how I used an AI software to generate artistic images and patterns, and after that, I hosted a quiz, which I felt slightly disappointed because I thought that people should have experienced that AI first; however, it was one of those spur-of-the-moment decisions. After the theoretical introduction, we moved on to the practical part of the lesson. To my surprise, the students were very quick learners and started creating countless unique designs, patterns, and color combinations. It was a fantastic experience to see how AI-generated algorithms instantly produced distinctive art pieces right before our eyes. The speed and quality at which the software could create artworks were incredible. To be honest, I was kind of shocked by the quality of the images with a very fundamental prompt. Believe it or not, I found the first lesson kind of a failure though my mother thought that it was an “imposter syndrome” after having read my students’ positive comments about the workshop.

In conclusion, opening the AI art workshop was an enlightening and inspiring experience for me (not excluding humbling as an adjective). I felt really great about briefing on the technical side of AI art, but I also believe in the importance of striking a balance between technology and creativity. As an artist, AI or not, it is important to understand and utilize the latest tools available to us while also remaining true to our artistic vision and intention.
